What are RPL and CT?

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL): If you’ve built skills through work, training, or life experience, RPL allows you to have those assessed against the requirements of a qualification. Instead of re-learning what you already know, you can demonstrate your competency and fast-track your study.

Credit Transfer (CT): If you’ve previously completed units that are equivalent to those in your chosen qualification, you may receive a direct credit. This means you don’t need to complete that unit again, saving time and reducing cost.

2: Self Assessment:

Complete the RPL self assessment tool to verify your current competence for one or several units of competency.

3: Enrol and Submit evidence:

Provide evidence of your skills and experience (e.g., work samples, references, résumés, training records). All evidence must be authentic, current, sufficient and relevant.

4: Assessment:

Our qualified assessors will review your evidence against the unit requirements.

5: Competency Conversation:

We will arrange an interview to discuss your skills and experience.

6: Reference checks:

Two reference checks will be conducted to support your application.

7: Outcome:

Successful RPL will reduce the units you need to complete.

Important to Know:

• Only nationally recognised units can be credited through CT.

• Credit Transfer is different from RPL. It only applies to formal qualifications or Statements of Attainment issued by another nationally recognised RTO. You must provide official AQF documentation, which must be verified before any credit can be approved.
